Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

The Freddie Ljungberg era at Arsenal began on Sunday with a less-than-ideal draw at Norwich but there were at least two goals for Aubameyang.

Along with Jamie Vardy, Aubameyang appears to be the outstanding captain choice this week with Brighton visiting the Emirates.

Wilfried Zaha

It took a while, but Zaha scored his first goals of the season over the last two gameweeks and is coming into form at just the right time.

The festive fixture list has been relatively kind to Crystal Palace, starting with a visit from Bournemouth and a trip to Watford at the weekend.

Danny Ings

If there is one thing Ings has lacked over the years, it is consistency. The same cannot be said now though after three goals in three games.

Norwich's leaky defence travels to St Mary's for a six-pointer this week and Ings will be looking to maintain his promising form.

James Maddison

Maddison is already a popular fantasy pick and it is easy to see why, with him rivalling Kevin de Bruyne for creativity over the last few weeks.

Leicester welcome Watford to the King Power on Wednesday night and will be confident of another victory in their budding title challenge.

Dean Henderson

Nick Pope had a weekend to forget and Burnley's fixtures are taking a turn for the worse, so could it be time for a change from the template goalkeeper?

You could do worse than Sheffield United's Henderson, who has five clean sheets to his name already and a favourable run of fixtures coming up.

Honourable mentions: Vicente Guaita, Martin Kelly, John Lundstram, Dele Alli, Jamie Vardy
