Carlo Ancelotti says Everton backroom is made up of ‘best staff in my entire career’
Italian’s son is among the coaching team at the Goodison Park club

The Toffees appointed Ancelotti last December and he has taken steps to improving the team which led to them briefly topping the table and winning manager of the month in September.
While they are without a win in the last three, there is still a clear progression he sees since joining the Goodison Park club which he feels is partly down to an improved coaching environment – which Ancelotti says is the best he has experienced in his long and storied career.
“I don’t know how to tell you… This is probably the best aspect of my job today,” he said to France Football.
“In Naples, they still say I went there to put my foot down. But my son is smart. He loves sport. He has studied, more than I have. He has a doctorate in sports science, which he validated in Germany.
“He was one of the youngest graduates. He loves the experience, as he has been with me since my time at Paris Saint-Germain, where he was a physical trainer, as he was at Real [Madrid], by the way.
“Then he became one of my assistants at Bayern [Munich]. Here I have a very young staff, with an average age of 32-33. But he is competent and motivated. There’s little criticism what can be said on the outside. This is probably the best staff I’ve had in my entire career.
“And I’ve had some very good ones elsewhere, with an assistant like Paul Clement for example. But they are always looking for something new.”
Ancelotti is contracted to Everton for a further three seasons after this one, during which time he will be attempting to win the club’s first piece of silverware since 1995.
