Everton secured a huge victory over high-flying Chelsea as Duncan Ferguson began life as interim manager with a win.

Richarlison got the stadium rocking with a header in the fifth minute as Everton got off to the perfect start following Marco Silva’s sacking this week.

And Dominic Calvert-Lewin put a second in shortly into the second half to seemingly put the game to bed.

But Mateo Kovacic’s brilliantly volley reply made things tight again and it needed another Calvert-Lewin goal, outmuscling the Chelsea defence, to finish the job and lift Everton out of the relegation zone.
