Drogba 'so sorry' for misses
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The striker missed a number of opportunities to put Chelsea in control – including one from six yards – before putting them in front with a 71st-minute header.
But his failure to kill off Everton at Stamford Bridge came back to haunt Avram Grant's side two minutes from time when Tim Cahill brought the scores level at 1-1 with an overhead kick.
"It was nice for me to score but not nice for me to miss the chances I had," Drogba said. "The first one in the first half was difficult because of the bounce but I had a big chance to score. I was so sorry for my team. We can't be happy with the point – but we didn't lose."
Chelsea, who already have Petr Cech (calf) and John Terry (knee) on the injury list, are still waiting to discover the extent of Ricardo Carvalho's back injury. The Portuguese defender, who was forced off in the opening half, will have a scan to determine the extent of the damage.
