Chelsea legend Didier Drogba will not be returning to the Blues - at least until he decides to retire.
The 37-year-old had been linked with a coaching job at Stamford Bridge after Jose Mourinho was sacked and Guus Hiddink returned for a second interim spell.
The Ivorian, who scored who won 12 major trophies in two spells at Stamford Bridge including four Premier League titles and the Champions League, was spotted in Roman Abramovich's box at the ground for the first game of the post-Mourinho era.
He had held talks with the Blues in December.
Drogba is just about to start the final season of the two-year deal he signed with the Montreal Impact of Major League soccer after leaving Chelsea last summer.
The Impact had added fuel to the fire adding that there was a "desire to help" Drogba and that the situation was "out of our control".
But with Drogba not yet retired, it is now clear he will return to play one more season with the Impact.
He Tweeted that he was on the way to Qatar to get a head start ahead of pre-season
Drogba's contract runs until the end of 2016.
