With the news quickly spreading across social media sites that David Moyes has been sacked as manager of Manchester United, several users of twitter have become unwillingly caught up in event.

Sarah Moyes (@Moyesy) from Polmont, Scotland, bears no relation to the now unemployed manager but has been inundated with tweets following the sacking.

Despite the mistaken identity, Sarah Moyes appears to have made light of the situation, even playing along to the idea that she is the daughter of the ex-United manager.

Meanwhile, other twitter uses from a far afield as India and New York have united (excuse the pun) with Sarah Moyes to discuss their experiences of mistaken identity in the footballing world.

Ravi Visvesvaraya Prasad (@rvp), an analyst in New Delhi has often been mistaken for the United striker Robin Van Persie and tweeted back in March that he is frequently targeted.

Ashley Van Buren (@avb) in New York appears to have become more accustomed to being mistaken for former Chelsea and Tottenham manager Andres Villas Boas, possibly because of the managers frequent movements.
