Your support makes all the difference.Three Manchester United goalkeepers, David De Gea, Victor Valdes and Anders Lindegaard, watched their team's opening game of the Premier League season against Tottenham from the stands.
Between them they have four major European titles, including three Champions League victories. They have 22 international caps, across Spain and Denmark. There are two Premier League titles worth of experience, plus in the case of Valdes, six La Liga wins.
Yet Louis van Gaal deemed that none were ready to play in goal for his team, so instead they sat together in the stands at Old Trafford.
De Gea, the subject of interest from Real Madrid, is not in the right frame of mind according to his manager.
Valdes allegedly refused to play for Manchester United's reserves last season - a situation that Van Gaal says has made him unplayable.
Meanwhile Lindegaard, who played 29 games under Sir Alex Ferguson and David Moyes, has not played a single game since Van Gaal took charge at Old Trafford.
Instead, Van Gaal opted to play summer signing Sergio Romero in goal, with 22-year-old Sam Johnstone on the bench.
