The Reds youngster proved to be the difference with his debut goal sending Jurgen Klopp’s much-changed side through at Anfield.
The 18-year-old’s contract runs until 2024, but Jones is already itching to feature more often.
“I just go out there and try and play my game,” Jones said. “It’s been frustrating to be on the bench then getting a bit of a taste for it, then on the bench again.
“There are times in my head where I’m begging to come on. So I just tried to go out there and show what I’m capable of doing.
“Hopefully I’ve topped it off with a good performance and, what everyone is saying, a great goal.
“I can’t sum up my emotions. For me it’s huge just being around this team every day and learning from this group of players.
“There are world-class players all over this team but I think I went out and showed what I could do on the pitch.”
After making his third appearance this season, Jones was praised by teammate Adam Lallana and urged to be patient.
“They have been absolutely brilliant this season. It’s frustrating at times because they obviously want to play,” Lallana said.
“It’s at times like this when they get the opportunity to show what they are capable of, and like the manager said they are more than ready to play.
“At times it’s frustrating because they are playing for the best club in the world and that’s a fact.
“They are training with us day in and day out and he (Jones) took his opportunity like everyone else.”
