From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Fernando Torres starts up front for Chelsea in place of the injured Samuel Eto’o as Jose Mourinho seemingly goes on the defensive against a physical Crystal Palace side.

Frank Lampard, David Luiz and Nemanja Matic all start in midfield for the Blues to nullify the home side’s attacking threats at Selhurst Park.

Andre Shurrle’s performance in the 6-0 mauling of Arsenal last weekend has earned him another start, with Willian returning to the squad after suspension but only good for the bench, whereas Oscar seats out despite his brace in the victory over the Gunners.

Tony Pulis names an unchanged side from the team that lost to Papiss Cisse’s last minute winner for Newcastle last Saturday.

The team line-ups are…

Crystal Palace: Speroni, Mariappa, Dann, Delaney, Ward, Dikgacoi, Jedinak, Puncheon, Ledley, Bolasie, Jerome.

Subs: Hennessey, Parr, McCarthy, O'Keefe, Bannan, Ince, Murray

Chelsea: Cech, Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry (c), Azpilicueta, Lampard, David Luiz, Matic, Schurrle, Torres, Hazard.

Subs: Hilario, Kalas, Mikel, Oscar, Willian, Salah, Ba

Referee: Lee Mason
