Palace had frustrated Chelsea during the opening exchanges, but conceded a penalty when James McArthur and Adrian Mariappa combined to bring down Eden Hazard in the area.
Eden Hazard's dreadful penalty was initially saved by Julian Speroni, but the Belgian winger was able to head in the rebound and spare his blushes, giving Chelsea the three points they needed ton win a fourth Premier League title in 10 years.
