Ruben Loftus-Cheek inspired Chelsea to a vital three points to ensure they took a massive step towards securing Champions League football next season.

The England midfielder came on early for the injured N’Golo Kante and built on his impressive display in the 1-1 draw vs Eintracht Frankfurt midweek.

After grabbing the opener to break a stubborn Watford’s resilience, Chelsea quickly doubled the lead through David Luiz.

Gonzalo Higuain added a third to boost Chelsea’s goal difference, which could prove key as they bid to edge out Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United.

Next up for Chelsea is the second leg of the Europa League semi-final against Frankfurt.
