From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Chelsea will pay their respects to those who lost their lives in the Paris terror attacks by featuring the Tricolore on their programme cover for this weekend’s fixture against Norwich City.
The cover will also include a tribute from defender Kurt Zouma, one of two French players in the club’s first team squad, alongside forward Loic Remy.
The French flag will also be incorporated into the black armbands worn by Jose Mourinho’s side and it will be displayed by fans in the Matthew Harding stand as the two teams walk out on to the pitch.
The gestures follow the news that ‘La Marseillaise’, the French national anthem, will be played every Premier League ground this weekend as an act of remembrance across the division.
Chelsea also confirmed that they will be increasing security controls inside and outside Stamford Bridge and supporters have been advised not to bring bags if possible, as staff will be undertaking enhanced searches.
