From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Jose Mourinho has made three changes to the team that lost to Newcastle last week.

Petr Cech replaces Thibaut Courtois in goal to make his first Premier League start since April.

The Belgian has a minor muscular injury but with Mourinho able to call upon the hugely experienced Cech, who also played against Sporting Lisbon in midweek, he opted to rest the youngster.

Cesc Fabregas is suspended after picking up his fifth booking of the season in that defeat, with Nemanja Matic returning from a suspension of his own to play. That means John Obi Mikel continues to make his third consecutive appearance.

The final change sees Filipe Luis, who impressed against Sporting, replace Cesar Azpilicueta at left-back.

Diego Costa continues up front but has now failed to find the net in his last four matches, with his last goal for the Blues in the 2-0 win against West Brom on 22 November.

Mourinho will continue with the striker to boost his sharpness in front of goal ahead of a busy Christmas period.

Steve Bruce has also made three changes to his team with Andrew Robertson, Nikica Jelavic and Curtis Davies in for Liam Rosenior, Abel Hernandez and Steven Quinn.
