From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Jose Mourinho’s men return from Paris on the back of a well-earned draw as they look to extend their seven point lead at the top of the Premier League before Manchester City play in the evening.

As we approach the reverse fixtures of the Premier League’s opening weekend the Blues seem to be on track for a fifth league title losing just twice in the league since their 3-1 win at Turf Moor.

Burnley’s fortunes aren’t so bright as they are just four points off bottom placed Leicester in 19th place, and rumours this week have set alarm bells ringing about the future of star man Danny Ings.

The England U-21 striker has nine goals in 22 appearances this year for the Clarets and fans will be hoping that transfer talk will not hinder his attitude going into arguably the club’s hardest game of the year.

Chelsea remain unbeaten at home in the league since last season’s 2-1 defeat to Sunderland in April that effectively put their title chances to bed. Sean Dyche’s side have only picked up seven of an available 36 points away from home, with a solitary 2-1 win at Stoke in November.

CLASSIC MATCH…

Chelsea arrived at Turf Moor last August as title favourites, boosted by new signings such as Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa, and soon showed why. They took a 2-1 lead through a stunning 25-pass-move which ended with Fabregas assisting Andre Schurrle with the deftest of touches to create a defence-splitting ball which the German slotted home.
