From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The worst season in two decades at Stamford Bridge is almost drawing to a close.

In fact, a case can be made that this has been the worst season in the club's history, there has been relegation in the past of course, but given the size of the wage bill, expectations and the fact Jose Mourinho's team won the Premier League last season, not much more could have gone wrong in west London.

Mourinho was sacked, Guus Hiddink came in and steadied the ship, helping the club avoid the drop (were they really ever going to get relegated?) but did little more, with Chelsea now in 10th and without the chance to win any silverware and no Champions League football next season.

The club's biggest stars appear uninterested and seeking a way out, there has been no announcement on a new manager yet, although Italy coach Antonio Conte is expected to come in after Euro 2016, and the club's transfer policy over the last 18 months has been absolutely comical.

Massive change is needed at Stamford Bridge to get the Blues back were billionaire owner Roman Abramovich wants, and has paid for, them to be.

But before Chelsea can think about bringing in new faces, there are a number of players whose futures are completely up in the air.

Decisions will need to be made on these nine before any others can be made - and while some, like John Terry, are obviously desperate to play at the club, others don't seem so keen.
