Robson is having talks with the Parma midfielder Baggio about a £4m move and he hopes he can also capture Croatian Boban, who is unsettled at Milan. Bolton's Mark Fish is finally set to move to Charlton for £1.5m. The South African centre-half was on his way to The Valley in the summer until a move fell down over a dispute about the payment of the fee.

Fish has been offered a new deal at Bolton but has yet to sign. He is a free agent in the summer and has hinted he may go home of the terms are not right.

The Manchester City manager Joe Royle hopes to secure the signing of Newcastle United's Laurent Charvet today. Royle agreed the fee of £1.5m last night and will discuss personal terms with Charvet and his Yugoslav agent today.

The French defender has been a regular in the Newcastle side but he has stalled on a new contract and can go for nothing at the end of the season.

The Argentinian international Pablo Paz has joined Newcastle on a week's trial with a view to a move for £1.5m. The 27-year-old Tenerife defender won a silver medal as part of the Argentina squad in the 1996 Olympics and played against Croatia in the 1998 World Cup.

Richard Dunne has completed his move from Everton to Manchester City. The 21-year-old Republic of Ireland international has signed a five-year contract.

West Ham will not be punished after four of their players were charged with "protesting aggressively" in the Premiership match against Leicester.

Darlington's Martin Gray may face an FA charge after an alleged incident left Kidderminster's John Durnin needing stitches to a head wound.

Durnin, who scored both Kidderminster's goals in their 2-1 win at Feethams on Tuesday, was allegedly assaulted in the tunnel by the Darlington captain as the teams left the field.
