Since that 3-1 victory – which is now more famous for Alan Hansen’s "you won’t win anything with kids" line – United are unbeaten in 19 Premier League games at Villa Park, claiming 12 wins in the process.
Since 1992 the Red Devils have taken a staggering 107 points off Villa winning 32 matches and scoring 85 goals - Villa have only taken 20 off United in return. Their records against Tottenham and Everton are equally as impressive, taking 104 and 100 points, respectively, although Spurs (26 points) and Everton (31 points) put up a bit more resistance.
Arsenal have their own 'banker' against Everton, with 27 wins from 46 fixtures, while Chelsea have one against Tottenham, losing only four times in 46 matches.
But of all the games between teams who’ve featured in every season of the Premier League, it is United’s record against Villa that stands out as the league’s ‘banker fixture’.
To think the Villa won the first Premier League meeting between the two teams 1-0 thanks to Dalian Atkinson’s winner...
