Arsene Wenger has hit back at former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry after he made comments regarding the anger among fans at the Emirates Stadium following back-to-back defeats by Manchester United and Swansea that leaves the club on the brink of falling out of the Premier League title race.

Henry claimed that the home crowd was as “angry” as he had seen them following the loss to Swansea, which saw Arsenal lose control of an early lead to succumb 2-1 to the relegation threatened side.

However, speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday’s north London derby against Tottenham, Wenger hit back as the man he signed for the club back in 1999, and claimed that he does not get to feel the true feelings of the fans at every game because he is sitting in the rich seats.

"Henry hasn't found the measurement of the fans anger -he sits in the best seats in the stadium,” Wenger said when asked about Henry’s comments.

Henry claimed that the fans at the Emirates had shown negativity towards Wenger from the moment Swansea equalised, and believes that they booed every decision the 66-year-old Frenchman made during the match.

Writing in his column for The Sun, Henry said: "I have never heard the Arsenal supporters as angry as they were at the Emirates on Wednesday night when their team lost at home to Swansea.

"They were less patient than I have ever known, booed one of the manager’s substitutions and groaned every time a pass went astray or a tackle was lost.

"The stick that Arsene Wenger has been getting is not personal. People judge what they are seeing, although some maybe go too far in the way they express their unhappiness."
