Juan Foyth says Tottenham will not compromise their natural attacking game against Arsenal

Tottenham’s run of six consecutive wins will be under threat at the Emirates Stadium against the Premier League’s joint-top scorer in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and the team that has converted a higher proportion of its shots than any other.
But the Argentinian central defender, who has started each of the last three league games, said that Tottenham would not sit on the back foot against their rivals, and that he would be studying video footage of Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette to prepare himself for the test ahead.
“We play the same way against every team,” Foyth insisted. “We don’t care if it is a small team or a big team. We play the same way. We don’t know which players will play, but I watch videos of the players, I watch their games. We are winning big games, we have big confidence in our team, and we are
really happy.”
Foyth is only 20 years of age, and was signed from Estudiantes for £8 million in summer 2017 despite having played only seven games in the Primera Division. But after a slow start, he has gradually been integrated into the first team this season, and his manager Mauricio Pochettino believes he
has the potential to become one of the best defenders in Europe.
“The connection with my team-mates was perfect from the day I arrived here,” he said. “Whether I am playing or not, they are very good guys and they always give me lots of confidence. We always try to correct our mistakes, and do the best we can between our matches.”
Foyth missed Tottenham’s 1-0 win over Inter Milan on Wednesday night due to an administrative blunder that saw him omitted from Tottenham’s list of eligible players for the Champions League. “I understand the situation,” he said. “When the season started, I was injured and we had a lot of players. Now I have to wait for my moment.”
