Fazrul Nawaz wears the Petr Cech-style hat against Arsenal (twitter.com/TerryAFCx)
Petr Cech did not play any part of Arsenal's 4-0 pre-season friendly win over a Singapore Select XI today, but one player did at least sport the protective headwear that is synonymous with the new Gunners goalkeeper.
After Fazrul Nawaz came on for Singapore deep into the second half, Twitter exploded with mentions of Cech.
Like Cech, Nawaz wears the scrumcap after an on-pitch collision. Nawaz was knocked out after being kicked in October 2013.
Cech has worn a protective cap since fracturing his skull after a challenge from then-Reading midfielder Stephen Hunt back in October 2006.
Here are some of the reactions
Cech was not part of the Arsenal squad who defeated the Singapore Select XI 4-0. The Gunners play again on Saturday however, against Everton in the final of the Barclays Asia Trophy friendly tournament.
