From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

It’s a big game for…

Petr Cech: After the controversy surrounding Arsene Wenger’s team selection in the midweek Champions League game with Olympiakos, Cech will be hoping to get through this fixture with no glaring errors. Wenger defended his decision to start David Ospina but Cech must deliver when selected. A quiet day at the office would be ideal for Cech the Czech.

Best stat…

24: Arsenal’s win percentage of 24% against Manchester United is their lowest against any other Premier League club.

Remember when…

Ryan Giggs scored one of English football’s most iconic goals in the 1999 FA Cup semi-final? United went on to win the cup and the treble that season.

Players to watch…

Wayne Rooney: The England captain has not been in the greatest form of his life, and his miss against Wolfsburg in the Champions League in midweek epitomised a player lacking in confidence. But Rooney’s goal against Sunderland – which ended a run of over 1,000 Premier League minutes without one – should spur him on towards Sir Bobby Charlton’s United record.

Another player in great form is Alexis Sanchez. The Chile international has gone from no goals all season to four goals in two matches. Wenger has often referred to Sanchez as the Gunners’ biggest threat and Louis van Gaal must do a job on the attacker or run the risk of being undone by the pocket sized magician.

Past three-meetings…

Manchester United 1 (Herrera) Arsenal 1 (Blackett OG), Premier League, May 2015.

Manchester United 1 (Rooney) Arsenal 2 (Monreal, Welbeck), FA Cup, March 2015.

Arsenal 1 (Giroud) Manchester United 2 (Gibbs OG, Rooney), Premier League, November 2014.

Form guide…

Arsenal: WLLWWL (last six games (all comps) most recent result to the right)

Manchester United: WLWWWW

Vital information…

Kick-off: Sunday 16:00
