At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Arsenal and Manchester City meet in what could be a pivotal fixture in the race for the Premier League title, with a potential winner looking to hunt down leaders Leicester and close the gap at the top to just two points at Christmas.

Despite City winning two Premier League titles since Arsenal’s last success, the Gunners actually head into the clash on the back of a four-game unbeaten run against them, having won twice and drawn the other two fixtures.

With City struggling without captain Vincent Kompany in defence, Arsenal head into the clash at the Emirates as slight favourites, though City still remain in the lead in the bookmakers’ race for the title. It’s for this reason why the hotly-anticipated festive fixture could prove so important in the long run, even if it is just one of the 38 matches both teams will play in the league this season.

Arsenal go into the match off the back of a five-game unbeaten run that was them keep their Champions League hopes alive with victories over Dinamo Zagreb and Olympiakos, although their league form has seen them win just two of their five matches.

City meanwhile lost to Stoke at the start of the month, although they do have four victories in their last five matches to overlook that defeat and managed to clinch top spot in their Champions League group after Juventus slipped up in the final round of fixtures.
