From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

It’s a big game for…

Jamie Vardy

The man on fire will have one on his mind as he heads to north London, setting the record straight and finally beating the Gunners at the Emirates. Leicester have a history of rough results at the Emirates and Vardy’s two goals weren’t enough in the 5-2 defeat last time the two sides met in September. If the League’s top scorer can sink Arsenal, Leicester will nudge eight points ahead of their competition. As the pressure kicks in on the title race, this weekend is a pivotal game and Vardy needs to be on form.

Weird /best stat…

There has not been a goalless draw between the two sides since January 2001. With all eyes on the Emirates this weekend as the top four remain just six points apart, history suggests goals are almost certain to flow.

Remember when…

An early goal did not prove enough to fight off the Gunners’ advances. Leicester’s defence buckled in the middle of the game, before Vardy grabbed a late consolation goal.

Player to watch…

Francis Coquelin

Now Arsenal’s first choice defensive midfielder, Coquelin will have an important part to play if the club are to secure the win over the formidable Leicester. He will need to avoid recklessness in his trademark forward aggression however, as maintaining possession will be key to ensuring Vardy isn’t gifted chance after chance.
