Bukayo Saka, in the same week the teenager extended his contract at the Emirates, and Alexandre Lacazette scored to boost Arsenal’s hopes of a top four finish in the Premier League.
And Arteta was thrilled to see the fight displayed by his players to emerge victorious at Molineux.
“This team is alive and is going to be alive when they enjoy to suffer together,” Arteta said.
“If they are able to do that, good things will come.
“I’m delighted with the performance, the shift that the players put in, the energy that we played [with], the fight for every single ball from the first minute to the last from every single player who touched that grass.”
Arsenal scored at the end of each half and Arteta says his team must continue to work on their consistency for the full 90 minutes, with Wolves among several teams to have put pressure on the Gunners even after having fallen behind.
“There were a few really good moments in play, the goals that we scored were really good as well, [but] there were moments that we have to improve how we manage games and dictate games better, mostly in the second half.
“But we will get there. At least [have] the spirit and how everybody approaches the game, they go full gas to every ball.”
The win for Arsenal leaves them seventh in the table, three points behind their opponents at Molineux.
