Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny voted Brentford's best stopper of the last decade... despite only playing 28 games for the Bees

Wojciech Szczesny has been voted the best Brentford goalkeeper of the past decade.

The Arsenal stopper, who will definitely start against Middlesbrough at home on Sunday, has been relegated to the bench in favour of David Ospina after two bad errors in the defeat to Southampton on New Year's Day. Szczesny has only played once since then, in the FA Cup victory over Brighton.

But the Pole, 24, has this week been named Brentford's best in a Twitter poll conducted by the club.

Szczesny's spell at Griffin Park paved the way for Szczesny to become first choice under Arsene Wenger at Arsenal.

Originally arriving at the club on a one-month loan, the goalkeeper ended up staying until the end of the season, playing 28 games.

The next season he became the Arsenal No 1.
