Alex Telles has returned to training with Manchester United following his recovery from coronavirus.

The new signing made his United debut in the 2-1 win over Paris Saint-Germain last month but subsequently tested positive for Covid-19.

Telles observed a two-week period of self-isolation, missing United's meetings with Chelsea, RB Leipzig, Arsenal and Istanbul Basaksehir.

United confirmed on Friday that Telles had returned to their Carrington training base ahead of Saturday's lunchtime Premier League kick-off against Everton.

Telles joined United on transfer deadline day last month in a  £13.6m move from Porto to provide competition for Luke Shaw at left-back.

The Brazil international’s return may have come too late to feature at Goodison Park but is a boost for manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who is under pressure after back-to-back defeats against Arsenal and Istanbul Basaksehir.

Solskjaer insisted that he is the right man to bring success to Old Trafford at his pre-match press conference on Friday. The former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is available and has been widely linked with United.
