Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Januzaj's emergence has been one of the few bright spots in a miserable season for Manchester United.
The 19-year-old winger has made 34 appearances, scoring four goals and impressing with his trickery and forward thinking.
And Januzaj hopes by studying Real Madrid forward Ronaldo he can make similar improvements to the former United star and current world player of the year.
The winger told Inside United: "I watch him a lot and try to do the same things that he does.
"He is a very good player. I always look at him and watch his games as well and try to do what he is doing and remember what he did at Manchester United."
He continued: "I have to work hard in the gym like he did because, when he came here, he wasn't strong. But after a year or so he became really strong and could push people away.
"I'm getting a bit stronger now due to the gym work."
