Manchester City are reigning champions after a dominant 2020/21 season and Pep Guardiola's side are favourites to win it again boasting as they do one of the best squads in Europe.
European champions Chelsea have proven they have what it takes to dethrone City, however, having done it in last season's Champions League final and will be hoping to add a domestic title to the one won in Porto.
Liverpool were winners back in 2020 ending a 30-year wait for league glory and Jurgen Klopp is sure to have them back challenging again at the sharp end this season too while Manchester United will be looking to be back in the title picture with Cristiano Ronaldo returning to his former club in the summer.
It's not all about the action at the top though with Norwich, Watford and Brentford promoted to the top tier for 2020/21 and hoping to hold their own against the best English football has to offer and avoid the drop.

Normann tussles with Weghorst just in front of the D and ends up fouling the Dutchman. Burnley will get the chance to shoot from this free-kick.

Once again, Cornet's delivery from the left is decent but not quite perfect. Weghorst reaches the byline and passes backwards. Norwich see it coming and get to the pass first.

Hanley clambers over the back of Rodriguez to hand Burnley an indirect free-kick. Westwood puts it in the right place but his teammates aren't able to do anything with it, and Krul comes away with the ball.

Cornet's left-wing cross floats over everyone in Norwich's box and is picked up by Lennon down the right. His delivery isn't much better. It's all very easy for Norwich's back line at the moment.

Things haven't clicked for Burnley in an attacking sense yet. Brownhill's bundled over outside the D but isn't awarded a free-kick. Cornet hopefully lashes the ball against a Norwich defender from range.

Norwich take the corner short. Rashica manages to hook the ball towards the penalty area from a tight angle. It doesn't worry Burnley at all, though, as they simply hoof it away.

Norwich make progress down their right through Dowell, Byram and Rashica. In the end, they attempt to switch the play for Lees-Melou down the left. They get a corner out of it.
