Tottenham reveal Wembley contingency plans in event of further delays to new stadium
The club will now cap attendance for all Wembley fixtures after Chelsea, to be played on 24 November, at 51,000

Tottenham Hotspur have revealed contingency measures to ensure they can continue to play their home games at Wembley Stadium as they await confirmation for the opening date of New White Hart Lane.
For the 2017/18 season, special dispensation was granted by Brent Council to increase the number of full-capacity events held at the national stadium as a result of Spurs’ relocation.
But to ensure Tottenham can continue to play at Wembley, without a fixed move-out date yet to be confirmed, Brent Council have ordered that attendance for all potential home fixtures after Chelsea, to be played on 24 November, is capped at 51,000.
Tottenham are due to submit a planning application to increase this cap to 62,000.
A statement released on Sunday read: “Whilst Wembley National Stadium Ltd has been able to assign us a number of full capacity games, the restriction on the number of full capacity events available to WNSL each year means that our remaining Premier League fixtures after Chelsea will be capped at 51,000 unless otherwise advised.
“As a contingency measure to ensure we can stage our matches whilst we await certainty on the exact opening date of our new stadium, the Club has reached agreement with WNSL to host any additional home games that we may have to play at Wembley Stadium.”
The Football Association also confirmed it had reached an agreement with Spurs to host any additional games at Wembley for the rest of the season should they need the option.
Tottenham are set to provide a progress update on New White Hart Lane in early December, with the club currently set to play the rest of their remaining home games for 2018 at Wembley.
