From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Tottenham play Sunderland tonight, but regardless if they get a result against the team currently bottom of the Premier League table, the word is Tim Sherwood will soon be out of a job.

Sky Sports are reporting that the former Premier League winning captain of Blackburn will be replaced at the end of the season.

It will be a short tenure for Sherwood if that is the case, having only replaced Andre Villas-Boas at White Hart Lane in December.

Chairman Daniel Levy is notoriously ruthless and with Tottenham's hopes of clinching a top-four place appearing over, despite an outlay of over £100m on new players during the summer, it appears Sherwood will pay with his job.

So who will be charged with doing a better job next season? A number of candidates have been linked with the position - here we take a look at who they are...
