Supporters review of the season: Hull
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. We're officially the 17th best club in England. What an achievement for a team dismissed as no-hopers, and a manager much maligned for merely being open and honest.
Let's get this right, Phil Brown was right to have his half-time team talk on the pitch at Eastlands. At 4-0 down he told his players if they wanted to keep on playing at big stadiums, against top opposition, in front of fully supportive fans, they needed to improve. They did. We drew the second half 1-1. Our dramatic decline had more to do with Jimmy Bullard's injury, Sunderland re-calling Paul McShane with no intention of playing him and Marlon King's untenable situation with the club. We've learnt. Bring on next season.
Which team were your best opponents?
We beat Newcastle twice and drew with them once and they're admired here for remaining woefully inept until the end.
Who would you most like your team to sign this summer?
Realistically it's the same as last summer - Fraizer Campbell. A fit Bullard would be like another new signing.
What was the weirdest/funniest moment of your season?
Substitute Dean Windass warming up in front of a Rory Delap throw was hilarious. More farcical was the booking he received for it.
Mark out of 10 for the season?
10. Historic wins, epic battles, a frightening fall down the league, the drama of the last day, and finally survival. Priceless.
