Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

There was a common view that Arsene needed to strengthen in two positions - centre-back and holding midfield. He failed to do this, and the chickens came home to roost, through lost points and cup exits.

It appears he may have been covering for the board and simply did not have enough money to buy needed players. Injuries to key men exposed the lack of depth in the squad, as those whose form was poor continued to get starting spots due to the paucity of options. Wenger has to address the issue of too many young players and sort out that imbalance in the squad. Thank God for Andrei Arshavin, the one bright spot of the season.

Which team were your best opponents?

Manchester United. They showed the true gap between potential and proven when it came down to the games that matter.

Who would you most like your team to sign this summer?

A brick outhouse centre-back who will both command his area and organise those around him

What was the weirdest/funniest moment of your season?

Surely the 4-4 draw at Anfield. Not often that you score four goals, but still fail to win.

Mark out of 10 for the season?

6.
