Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw was not allowed to watch the X Factor on Saturday night after arriving late.

Shaw, who played arguably his best game for United in the 1-0 win against Crystal Palace since moving to Old Trafford in the summer, drove down to London after the match to watch the live ITV show.

But it appears that the 19-year-old arrived late to Wembley and was turned away by security.

On his Twitter page he wrote: "All the way to London to watch X factor then get there 5 mins late and not being allowed in".

Shaw has started the last four matches for Louis van Gaal and has improved in each match, he now believes he is showing his best form.

"At the start there was a few people questioning whether it was the right move to come here, but I'm feeling really good about myself now and hopefully the critics can turn it around now to more positive stuff because there was a lot of negativity about me," Shaw told the Daily Mirror.

"I just take it on the chin and I try to prove everyone wrong.

"You could say that criticism made me stronger because obviously you read it and everyone gets involved in media and what people say, so it's something that inspired me to push harder, work harder, train harder and prove people wrong and I've had a few good games."
