The Los Angeles Galaxy have confirmed they will unveil Ruud Gullit as their new head coach today.
The former manager of Chelsea and Newcastle United had been strongly linked with the vacancy at the Major League Soccer club, following the resignation of Frank Yallop.
Yallop quit the Galaxy on Sunday to return to San Jose for a second stint in charge of the Earthquakes.
Galaxy spokesman Patrick Donnelly initially declined to comment. But the club last night publicised a press conference today, at which former Netherlands midfielder Gullit will be present.
The Galaxy captain, David Beckham, who is likely to be named in the England head coach Steve McClaren's squad today, is also expected to attend – alongside the club president Alexi Lalas.
