Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Stoke City v Fulham Potters manager Tony Pulis welcomes back defender Ryan Shawcross for tonight's match after the centre-back missed the FA Cup win over York through suspension. Senegalese pair Abdoulaye Faye and Salif Diao, both rested for Saturday's victory, should also feature, while goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen is hopeful of being fit after being forced off at half-time against the Minstermen with a finger injury. Fulham has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the trip to the Britannia Stadium. Norwegian centre-back Brede Hangeland remains a doubt with the knee injury that has sidelined him since Boxing Day, but Andrew Johnson [groin] and Paul Konchesky [back] will feature after coming through Saturday's 1-0 win over Swindon. Damien Duff, Chris Baird, and Danny Murphy may all return after being rested for that match, although defender John Pantsil [knee] misses out.
Rosicky extends stay at Emirates
Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky has signed a new contract with the club, following similar recent deals agreed by Henri Lansbury and Abou Diaby. The Czech international joined from Borussia Dortmund in 2006 and has scored once this season. "Tomas is a special talent," said manager Arsène Wenger. "We're delighted he has committed his future."

Graham Taylor has agreed to stay on as chairman of the financially stricken Watford until 30 June. The 65-year-old former Hornets and England manager stepped in as interim chairman after last month's AGM after previous incumbent Jimmy Russo resigned and threatened to put the Hertfordshire club into administration.
