Zlatan Ibrahimovic, overlooked for the Fifa Ballon d'Or prize, will be pleased to have at least received recognition for something.

The striker saw his incredible overhead strike against England win the goal of the year at today's awards ceremony.

However, there is some confusion, as the effort by the PSG frontman was actually scored in November 2012.

Despite the goal not actually coming in 2013, there's no denying it was an absolute cracker.

It came in a match in which Ibrahimovic scored all four goals past England in a 4-2 victory as Sweden unveiled their new national stadium, the 50,000-seat Friends Arena.

It won't bring good memories for England's Joe Hart however, who was at fault as his weak headed clearance presented the opportunity.
