From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Premiership adversaries Manchester United and Arsenal will have another chance to do battle at Old Trafford after last night's League Cup quarter-final draw brought the teams together again.

"The FA will be delighted," said a smiling Ferguson after his team beat Crystal Palace 2-0 in the fourth round. "You couldn't ask for more attractive [quarter-final] ties."

The clubs have been at loggerheads since United won 2-0 at Old Trafford last month, in an ill-tempered match that ended Arsenal's unbeaten run of 49 league games and was followed by a food fight in the tunnel prompting a United investigation.

As a result of incidents that occurred during the match, United's striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy was banned for three matches for a crude tackle on defender Ashley Cole, while Wenger was charged by the FA on Monday with improper conduct after accusing Van Nistelrooy of being a "cheat".

This match revived tensions which surfaced during last year's league encounter between the two teams at Old Trafford, which ended with several Arsenal players hounding Van Nistelrooy after his late penalty miss in a 0-0 draw.

League Cup Quarter-Final Draw

Tottenham v Liverpool

Fulham v Chelsea

Man Utd v Arsenal
