Liverpool vs Man City LIVE: Premier League latest score, goals and updates from fixture today
Follow all the reaction live from Anfield after the title contenders went head to head
Kevin De Bruyne cancelled out Mohamed Salah’s stunning strike as Manchester City twice hit back to draw 2-2 at Anfield in a tie befitting two of the Premier League’s heavyweights.
A game which Pep Guardiola’s side had bossed in the first half exploded into life after the break with the stand-out moment being Salah’s weaving effort, of which Lionel Messi would have been proud.
The Egypt international twisted and turned past Joao Cancelo, Bernardo Silva, Aymeric Laporte and Ruben Dias before firing an angled right-footed shot inside the far post for his ninth goal in as many matches.
But Manchester City were left fuming that moments earlier James Milner, who was involved in the build-up, had not been shown a second yellow card for what appeared to be a blatant foul on Bernardo Silva.
Only Burnley have kept Salah out this season but as good as his goal was it was not enough to secure the three points which would have taken his team back to the top of the table as Kevin De Bruyne struck with nine minutes remaining as an absorbing encounter fittingly finished honours even.

Here’s some reaction from the Sky Sports studio:
Roy Keane: “It was a brilliant match, probably a fair result. Both managers will be satisfied.”
Jamie Carragher: “I didn’t see where that second half performance was coming from [from Liverpool]. But these two teams are fantastic. I was questioning at half time where Liverpool could find the energy from to compete with City, but they did.
“I think it’s a better point for City. They’ve come to Chelsea and Liverpool [and won four points]. They’ve been questioned about not having a striker but their play has been brilliant.”
Micah Richards: “Liverpool couldn’t get any worse in the second half. Over the course of the game City were the better team.”

Manchester City’s Phil Foden, speaking to Sky Sports.
“It’s very difficult place to come - one of the hardest, but I thought we dealt with it well. It was such a brilliant game - it had it all. It was disappointing not to go into half time ahead but we dug in and in the end we’re pleased with the point but disappointed to not get three.
“It shows our character. We haven’t won here a lot. We played really well today. There wasn’t a lot of room to shoot at goal so I just put my laces through it.”

The points are shared after a thrilling second half at Anfield. Mo Salah’s stunning individual goal was cancelled out by Kevin De Bruyne’s deflected strike, after Phil Foden had also equalised with a fine finish following Sadio Mane’s opener.
There’s plenty of respect between Klopp and Guardiola at the end, but the City manager was furious that James Milner was not sent off at 1-1 after he escaped a second yellow card.
But what a match, and it leaves Liverpool and City in second and third respectively, behind Chelsea, heading into the international break.
