From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Queens Park Rangers salvaged a 2-2 draw in the day's early game as Niko Krancjar's late free-kick saw the points shared at Loftus Road, with Stoke City letting the lead slip twice.

Following the duel in London, we turned our attentions to four games across the UK as Aston Villa were blown away by three Arsenal goals in three minutes and 12 seconds, Burnley held Sunderland to a drab goalless draw, Hull let a two-goal lead slip as Newcastle gave Alan Pardew hope of saving his job and 10-man Swansea saw Wilfried Bony sent-off and succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to Southampton.

In the day's final match, Liverpool were unable to prevent posting back-to-back defeats following last weekend's loss to Aston Villa, as a brilliant West Ham performance saw the Reds suffer a 3-1 reverse at Upton Park.

Keep up to date with the latest action as the goals go in.
