From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Welcome to The Independent's live coverage of Saturday's Premier League action, where we begin with a mouth-watering clash between Liverpool and Chelsea.
The two sides famously met last season in a match that has since become known for Steven Gerrard's slip, which paved the way for Liverpool's end-of-season collapse that cost them the Premier League title.
Chelsea will hope to repeat the feat in their first trip to Anfield since that day, and they'll look to the likes of Diego Costa and in-form Eden Hazard to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.
After that, we'll have live updates from four more games around the country, as basement club Burnley look for their first win against Hull, Manchester United aim to recover from their derby defeat with the visit of Crystal Palace, high-flying Southampton entertain Leicester and West Ham host Aston Villa.
In the day's late kick-off, Manchester City will look to put their European woes behind them with a trip to QPR.
Today's fixtures:
- Liverpool v Chelsea - 12.45pm
- Burnley v Hull - 3pm
- Manchester United v Crystal Palace - 3pm
- Southampton v Leicester - 3pm
