Follow all the action as Leeds welcome Aston Villa to Elland Road in the Premier League this afternoon.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side are in high spirits after a dominant 3-0 victory against Southampton last time out, with Patrick Bamford adding a 13th league goal to his tally this season. That victory saw Leeds move 13 points clear of the relegation zone and they are now just five points adrift of sixth-placed Liverpool in what has been a brilliant first season back in the top flight.
Aston Villa, meanwhile, will be wary of succumbing to a slump in the absence of their talisman, Jack Grealish. The captain’s shin injury has seen him miss the last two matches, with Villa lucky to take a point against Brighton before losing against Leicester last weekend. Dean Smith’s side remain in a terrific position in the table, though, and a top-six finish is certainly within reach, trailing Liverpool by just four points while also boasting two games in hand. 36 mins: A short threaded pass into the left side of the box comes to Raphinha who collects, turns and flicks and cross into the six-yrad box. Bamford is a little late on his run in front of Mings and gets beaten to the ball by Martinez. Leeds are stepping up the pressure.

33 mins: Tyler Roberts has been involved in quite a few of Leeds’ attacks so far. He is found near the Villa box by Diego Llorente but snatches at his shot and fires his effort well over the crossbar.

30 mins: Slick work from Leeds who play the ball quickly up the pitch. Costa picks out Bamford with a nice through ball and the striker lays it off to Raphinha. He brings the ball into the box and avoid a slide tackle from McGinn. Dallas gets forward on the overlap and Raphinha tries to pick him out but overhits the pass and the attack breaks down.

27 mins: El Ghazi is hungry for goals today. He plays a give-and-go with Watkins to create some space just outside the penalty area. The ball comes back to him and he hits it first time under pressure from Cooper. The shot is decent but El Ghazi just pulls it narrowly wide of the left hand post.

24 mins: Lovely run from Raphinha who takes the ball past Elmohamady with his first touch and carries it into the box. He goes around John McGinn before running into Ezri Konsa who knocks the ball out for a Leeds corner. Raphinha takes the corner himself and picks out Liam Cooper who sends a headed effort straight at Martinez in goal.

21 mins: Ahmed Elmohamady arrives late when tackling Stuart Dallas and hits him with a strong tackle. Dallas goes down and VAR looks at the tackle but gives nothing other than a free kick.

15 mins: Aston Villa’s corner is swung into the box towards Tyrone Mings but Bamford gets above the Vlla defender and knocks it out behind. The second corner doesn’t beat the first Leeds defender and the home side clear the danger.

12 mins: El Ghazi comes close to giving Villa a second. He drifts in field from the right wing and has no options in the box so goes for goal. It’s a powerful left-footed shot that Meslier parries over the crossbar.

9 mins: Leeds have conceded 27 first half goals this season, more than any other side. Tyler Roberts flicks the ball out to Raphinha on the left wing. He cuts into the front edge of the penalty area and slots the ball back to Roberts who’s run into the box. He takes his chance on goal with his first touch and smokes it at Emi Martinez who makes the save for Villa.
