Aston Villa returned to winning ways in the Premier League as goals by Amadou Onana and Jhon Duran wrapped up a 2-1 victory at Leicester City.

Summer signing Onana touched in from close range after a clever free kick routine in the 28th minute.

Hosts Leicester, seeking their first win since promotion back to the top flight, were more of a threat in the second half but Duran’s 63rd-minute header appeared to have killed them off.

They were handed a lifeline when Facundo Buonanotte slotted in a shot 10 minutes later, but they could not salvage a point as Villa held on with relative comfort.

Villa, who were beaten by Arsenal last weekend, have six points from three games with Leicester on one.

Vardy has the ball in the back of the net, but referee David Coote had already pulled the play back as the ball had hit him in the build-up. Leicester fans are not happy!

Okoli receives the ball some 30 yards away from the goal and the debutant takes a couple of touches before pulling the trigger from distance. His shot, however, whistles inches over Martinez's goal.

It's a promising attack from Villa as Bogarde goes on a twisting run down the right before cutting into the middle. But the Dutch defender then gives the ball away cheapy to Skipp at the edge of the box.

There's a break in play at the King Power Stadium as Villa goalscorer Onana hits the floor and is receiving medical attention in the middle of the park. Emery has already had Bailey pick up an injury in this game, but Onana looks okay to soldier on, at least for the time being.

Leicester are moving the ball around in the Villa half before Ayew crosses into the box for Fatawu to head, but it's an easy catch for Martinez in the Villa goal.

Villa begin the second half brightly, with Ramsey getting inside the box and crossing it to the middle, with Watkins lurking. But Faes is in a good position to head the ball away from danger.

We are halfway through this contest at the King Power Stadium and it is visitors Villa who lead 1-0 at the break, courtesy of Onana's second Premier League goal of the season. The hosts began the game on a positive note, buoyed by their home support. But Villa grew into the game only to suffer a setback when Bailey was taken off due to an injury just 16 minutes in. But the Villans went ahead in the 28th minute when Tielemans found Ramsey in the box with his free-kick, and the substitute played it back across the goal for Onana to find the breakthrough. The Foxes ended the first period strongly as they probed for an equaliser, with 20-year-old Fatawu causing plenty of problems for Digne and Villa's defence. But it was Okoli who tested Martinez toward the end of the half with the Villa goalkeeper preserving his side's slender advantage at the halfway point.
