Estonia's national stadium will be where the League of Wales champions, Total Network Solutions, will be looking for a single-goal victory over Levadia Maardu today to move into the second preliminary round of the Champions' League.

TNS, from the village of Llansantffraid, just inside the border, are hoping to build on their 2-2 draw at Wrexham last week in the first leg.

Their manager, Andy Cale, yesterday referred to the match here as "a step into the unknown". He said: "We showed great character in our first meeting, but have to do it again and a bit better. We have had the learning process and now know that we can score at this level.

"Though we struggled against their pace at the start last week, we had not played a match for nearly three months. I felt that we could have won that one and I was proud of the way we played."

Despite finding a hard playing surface here, they will have been lifted by John Toner's late equaliser at Wrexham. The Canadian-born Toner is a former scaffolder with a knack for goalscoring. He has scored 14 times in 18 games under Cale and knows that one more may be good enough to put the League of Wales outfit through to meet Shakhtyor Donetsk of Ukraine in the next round.

The Estonians are backed by the millions of Ukraine-born steel industrialist, Viktor Levada, and anything other than a home victory may be viewed as a national catastrophe - although Cale does dispute that.

"I'm unsure how important football is in Estonia. After all, the national side once failed to turn up for a match with Scotland. Levadia don't get big attendances, while their game against us has been switched from Maardu to the national stadium because the club facilities weren't up to scratch," he said.
