Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Steve Clarke will hope Che Adams finds his scoring touch for Scotland, as they host the Faroe Islands on Wednesday.
Three points in their 2022 World Cup qualifier is a must for the Scots, who have drawn against Austria and Israel so far - both results yielding an admirable point to take, but only if they are followed up with a victory against one of the continent’s weakest sides.
Adams and Ryan Fraser should give plenty of the movement and confidence in the final third which will be required to break down the visitors’ defence, while the Scots’ own defensive resolve under Clarke might also be required at times - the Faroes have scored against both Moldova and Austria in this international break.
Moving on to five points from three matches would represent a solid start to qualification and give Scotland a big boost in the lead-up to Euro 2020, as they look to reach back-to-back major tournaments for the first time since the ‘96 European Championships and France ‘98.
