The Greek champions have endured a rocky season as they started with Real Madrid legend Michel in the hot seat but the Spanish manager was sacked after a series of disappointing performances.
Olympiakos have lost four league matches this season thus far which included a defeat at home against PAOK and a derby loss away to Panathinaikos.
However, the Red-Whites managed to beat Panathinaikos at the Georgios Karaiskakis stadium and also picked up some impressive wins against Atletico Madrid and Juventus in the Champions League.
Fulham’s record-breaking signing Kostas Mitroglou contributed much as he scored 13 goals in 20 league matches before injury and is now the third top goalscorer, tied with Sweden international Marcus Berg.
The team’s manager Vitor Pereira, who won two straight championships with Porto, is already looking to improve his team for next season as from the 2016-2017 period the Greek champions will not be qualifying to the Champions League automatically.
