Mario Balotelli told to show team spirit by Thiago Motta

The Italy midfielder Thiago Motta believes Mario Balotelli will be an influential figure for the Azzurri at Euro 2012, if he behaves himself.

Motta, who played with the Manchester City striker at Internazionale, said: "We need Balotelli to work for the team, and to show responsibility. Only like that can he make the difference, and I'm sure he will."

Italy begin their campaign against holders Spain on Sunday.
