Your support makes all the difference.Manuel Neuer may be the best goalkeeper in the world right now, but even he is capable of mistakes – especially when the Germany and Bayern Munich goalkeeper employs his high-risk style known as the ‘sweeper keeper’.
But there was one incident that occurred during the 2018 World Cup qualifier between Germany and Czech Republic on Sunday that left Neuer looking rather foolish. With Germany already 3-0 up and cruising towards victory, Neuer took his eye off the ball – literally.
Running back towards his own goal to retrieve the ball, the 30-year-old tried to kick it out of the net and up into his hands to pass it back up the pitch to a teammate. However, losing control of it, he managed to succeed in only kicking himself in the face.

Luckily for Neuer, the match was in the closing stages and with Germany already three goals to the good, he was able to laugh about the miscontrol. Thomas Müller opened the scoring in Hamburg before adding a second after half-time, with the Bayern striker’s goals sandwiching one from Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos.
