England have reached the knockout stages of the World Cup after a tense 0-0 draw with Nigeria.

In a match of very few chances, England's best opportunity came when Paul Scholes hit the post with a long-range shot. Nigeria had several half-chances, but were kept out thanks to an excellent display by Rio Ferdinand.

In the other Group F game, Sweden drew 1-1 with Argentina. The result means that Sweden will play Senegal in the next round while England will face Denmark.
