Queen's Park Rangers Rowan Vine and Fitz Hall could become the latest players to move to Loftus Road, following the accquisition of Akos Buzsaky, Hogan Ephraim and Matthew Connolly on Wednesday. Birmingham midfielder Vine has been on loan at Loftus Road since October, while Hall has failed to feature for the Latics under new manager Steve Bruce. Stefan Postma and Sebastian Rusculleda have also been linked.
Crystal Palace Independent columnist Neil Warnock has been named Championship Manager of the Month for December after guiding the Eagles to an unbeaten month, recording five victories and two draws.
West Bromwich Albion The goalkeeper Michel Danek is due to arrive at the Hawthorns on trial next week, with a view to completing a move to the club later this month. The 24-year-old Czech is seen as a long-term replacement for first-choice goalkeeper Dean Kiely, and could cost the Baggies around 850,000 from Czech outfit Viktoria Plzen.
Sheffield Wednesday The Owls defender Richard Woods has returned to full training as he continues his recovery from the dislocated shoulder he sustained last October. Woods could feature for the reserves next week.
Blackpool The club have extended the loan stay of West Bromwich Albion's Polish striker Bartosz Slusarski for a further month. The forward has scored one goal in six appearances after joining in November.
League round-up
Leeds United Dennis Wise has been questioned by police after chasing a 13-year-old boy who threw stones at his car on New Year's Day. Wise was driving his pregnant wife, mother-in-law and two children home from a family meal in Leeds city centre at the time of the attack.
Southend United Adam Barrett has signed a new contract at the club and will now remain at Roots Hall for a further four years. "This is a special club to me," the defender said. "I used to watch them as a kid and all of my family are season ticket holders."
Shrewsbury Town The midfielder Ben Davies has been named as the new Shrews captain following the departure of Stewart Drummond to Morecambe this week. The Maccles- field midfielder Kevin McIntyre has moved to Gay Meadow to replace Drummond.
Swansea City Roberto Martinez has been named League One Manager of the Month for December, with Milton Keynes Dons Manager Paul Ince taking the League Two prize.
