Round-up: Grayson indulges in Somma loving

Leeds manager Simon Grayson was profuse in his praise for Davide Somma after the striker came off the bench to score the equalising goal in his side's 2-2 draw with promotion rivals Norwich on Saturday.

"He's a great lad," said Grayson of Somma, who was introduced in the 73rd minute for midfielder Neil Kilkenny when Leeds were losing 2-1. The South African then volleyed in with his first touch. "[Somma's] never once complained. He understood when I left him out last weekend, he understood here. He's got a fantastic attitude, works ever so hard and is a massive team player," added Grayson.

Robert Earnshaw felt so much respect for his former club that he didn't celebrate his goal which gave Nottingham Forest a 2-1 over Cardiff and lifted them to second. "It's bittersweet," said Earnshaw, who was a trainee with Cardiff and turned in team-mate Paul Anderson's pass for the winner in the 67th minute. "I wasn't going to celebrate out of respect for the club."

Wes Morgan scored Forest's first which was cancelled out by Peter Whittingham's penalty, before Earnshaw's goal arrived to consign Cardiff to fourth.

Middlesbrough's 3-2 victory at Millwall was nearly abandoned when objects were thrown from the home support, the Boro manager, Tony Mowbray, revealed.

"The referee wanted to bring the teams off but both managers didn't think it was the right decision," Mowbray said, after missiles were thrown at the linesman and goalkeeper Luke Steele when team-mate Scott McDonald put Borough 2-1 ahead.

"I'm not condoning it, but I do like the passion and enthusiasm," said the Millwall manager, Kenny Jackett.

Millwall's strikes from Neil Harris and Hameur Bouazza were ultimately eclipsed by Borough goals from Tony McMahon, McDonald and Leroy Lita, who scored the winner.
